What modifications should I make if I am going through menopause?

Dr. Jade has some tips around weight loss for those who are experiencing menopause:

  1. Fat is fine, but focus on protein over fat. It is more satiating and has fewer calories.
  2. Fruits are ok on occasion, but eat more vegetables and save fruit for an occasional dessert or treat.
  3. Don’t exercise too intensely or too often. Limit the hardcore exercise to 3-4 times per week and focus on relaxing walking, restorative yoga, tai chi or other relaxing activities instead.

Use the 4S Nutrition and 4S Exercise model as a guideline to control calories and hormonal changes.
