Dr. Jade has some tips around weight loss for those who are experiencing menopause:
- Fat is fine, but focus on protein over fat. It is more satiating and has fewer calories.
- Fruits are ok on occasion, but eat more vegetables and save fruit for an occasional dessert or treat.
- Don’t exercise too intensely or too often. Limit the hardcore exercise to 3-4 times per week and focus on relaxing walking, restorative yoga, tai chi or other relaxing activities instead.
Use the 4S Nutrition and 4S Exercise model as a guideline to control calories and hormonal changes.
