Can I add other vegetables not on the recommended list?

If you'd like, you can add in other non-starchy vegetables such as all the lettuces, green beans, asparagus, etc. Starchy veggies, like winter squash, potatoes, yams, etc. are all higher in carbohydrates and have a different hormonal effect on the body. Steer clear of those in the first 7 to 14 days.
